B.SC. NURSING DEGREE COURSE

The Programme shall be called Bachelor of Science in Nursing

OBJECTIVE OF THE COURSE 

On completion of the B.Sc. Nursing Degree programme, the graduate nurses are able to:

  • Function as self-directed individual and responsible citizen
  • Identify the influence of sociocultural, political, religious and economic factors on health and illness
  • Utilize knowledge of behavioral, social, physiological, medical and nursing science in their nursing practice
  • Provide comprehensive/holistic nursing care, using nursing process or problem solving approach, to people of all ages at different section in health as well as illness
  • Demonstrate skills in teaching, management, research, guidance and counseling
  • Take leadership; develop ability to make sound decision and creative thinking
  • Demonstrate skills in communication and in developing interpersonal relationships when working collaboratively with members of various disciplines
  • Participate for the continuing professional development of self and for the advancement of nursing profession and professional organization

ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION (AS PER INC RULES)

Candidate with Science who have passed the qualifying 12 Standard examination (10+2) and must have obtained a minimum of 45% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together and passed in English individually.

Candidates are also eligible from State Open School recognized by State Government and National Institute of Open School (NIOS) recognized by Central Government having Science subjects and English only.

English is a compulsory subject in 10+2 for being eligible for admission to B.Sc. (Nursing)

Candidate shall be medically fit.

COURSE DURATION

The B. Sc. Nursing program is a Fourth year program comprising of eight semesters including 6 month of internship in various multi-speciality Hospital
